Since September 2010, I hold a Ph.D. with honors from TU-Kaiserslautern, Germany.
From 2006 to 2010, I pursued a doctoral degree in the Chair for Real Time Systems in TU-Kaiserslautern, Germany.
During my Ph.D., my work was related to WASP, an IST EU project with main focus on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). This large project leaded by PHILIPS Research involved a number of industry partners and academic institutions from all across the EU. The project put into practice a common aim of narrowing the gap between academic research and industry deployments involving state-of-the-art WSNs.
Previously, I participated in the IST EU project BETSY, in which together with PHILIPS Research and other European partners we researched on multimedia stream adaptations and energy saving in devices with limited resources.
My work at the University of Kaiserslautern focused on Timeliness issues of WSN, in particular on providing meaningful timeliness without requiring restrictive assumptions. Other topics within my research interests include quality of service trade-offs as well as portability of applications and operating system in the area of WSN.
As part of my academic duties, among other activities I was in charge of the practical exercises for the course Real-Time Systems I and eventually I also taught some lectures in Real-Time Systems I and/or Real-Time Systems II. I also supervised and coordinated the work of several Master students, undergraduate projects (Studien/Diplom-arbeit) as well as a number student assistants (HiWis).
Before joining TUKL, I graduated in Computer engineering from the University of Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Spain). During my last undergraduate year, I studied abroad at the Mälardalens Högskola (Västerås, Sweden) where I did my final project related to bandwidth estimation algorithms for wireless networks. After that, I spent two months at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (Niterói, RJ, Brazil) as a guest researcher.
At the moment I am open to suggestions and project proposals. You can find my CV here. Should you consider me suitable for your group or activities, do not hesitate to contact me via the contact form.
